I am extremely concerned about the collapse of Carillion and the impact that this may have on some of my constituents and beyond.
Yesterday I spoke with Andrew Griffiths MP, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy on issues relating to jobs, pensions and contracts. I will continue to keep a close eye on events as they unfold but in the meantime below are a number of contact details if you are affected by this situation and need more information.
- If you are an employee of Carillion and worried about your pension situation you can ring The Pension Advisory Service (TPAS) on 0300 123 1047 for free and impartial guidance
- The Pension Advisory Service (TPAS) has also set up a special helpline number for members of Carillion's pension schemes: 020 7630 2715. For those already receiving their pensions they will continue to receive payment
- A dedicated website has been set up to provide information for anyone affected – see http://www.pwc.co.uk/carillion and a dedicated helpline – 0800 063 9282
In addition, further information can be found on the Cabinet Office website at the following address: www.gov.uk/government/news/carillion-declares-insolvency-information-for-employees-creditors-and-suppliers
Constituents can also get in touch with me on this and any other issues of concern to them.
